Advice 101: Demonstrate Interest!

Applicants who send off applications without taking time to get to know a college are a little suspicious. Colleges can’t help but wonder if the student has done any research or put thought into the connection. Is there really a match?

If you haven’t shown interest in the months before seeking admittance, colleges — especially smaller, selective institutions —  have no way of judging if you’re likely to accept their invitation.  And many schools take this very seriously as your decision affects yield or the percent of students who actually join the freshman class.
